As an old guy with a 7-year-old granddaughter who is showing interest and budding talent in creating letterforms, I purchased this book/workbook as a means to introduce her to calligraphy. It's a good one, with a brief history of calligraphy prior to illuminating the way to creating letters, with stroke-by-stroke guidance and a wonderfully designed layout. The weight of the paper is substantial, approaching a card stock thickness, and it looks as though this book will take a beating and survive. Now I have to shop for some calligraphic pens...
Happy with this purchase, and eager to get started in my new role as an assistant to a new calligrapher!

Alphabets, AND the stroke order! Not just 100 fonts printed in bulk, but careful details on actually inking these beautiful glyphs.

Great book

Wasn't sure if I'd like the spiral binding, but it does let the book lay flat so that's a plus. Does squeak however. Lots of fonts (almost too many, as I can never find the one I wanted to work on if I don't remember the name. But happy about the limitless possibilities) The instructions are great, very thorough.
